What it means in practice

The booking links and widgets here go to GetYourGuide, a licensed online travel agency. If you book after following one, GetYourGuide pays me a percentage of what you spent. You pay exactly what you would have paid going to GetYourGuide directly — the commission comes out of their margin, not your pocket.

What it does not mean

It does not buy a recommendation. The clearest evidence is the page I have spent the most time on: the Sorrento to Capri ferry, which tells readers to spend roughly €20 to €30 on a hydrofoil ticket I make nothing from, because for a lot of them that is the correct answer. The same instinct runs through ferry or boat tour and through every review, where the four-star complaints are quoted in full. A site that only ever says yes is worth nothing to you and, before long, nothing to me.

What I am not

Not a tour operator, not a ferry line, not the Comune di Capri, not GetYourGuide. I have no commercial relationship with Caremar, SNAV, NLG, Alilauro, Gescab or Laser Capri, and I never name the operator behind a tour listing — only the crew, when reviewers name them. Prices on this site are the “from” figures GetYourGuide showed at the time of writing and the widget re-prices by date and party size; the fixed costs that sit on top are itemised at what a boat tour costs.
